Chore Charts

This was so easy! I'll admit, since the hubby was available I did have him drill the holes for the ribbon. I found the burner covers at Dollar General. I didn't need to paint since the color on the sides was fine for my needs. I got the idea from Madigan Made Simple DIY Ideas.

I spread a thin layer of Mod Podge on the top of the cover then put the scrapbook paper on top and smoothed it out. (I flipped the burner cover over and used it to draw a circle on the back of the paper to get the size right.). I added a coat of Mod Podge to seal the scrapbook paper but I'm not sure it was necessary. The metal is sharp on the inside where the holes are drilled so you may want to think about filing or sanding that.

Each of the kids picked out their own paper. I let them choose a scrapbook book so they would have the same colors. The bigger circle is where they put the magnets when they have done the chore. I may change these and put the paper on the inside instead so the sides will catch any stray magnets. We'll see. Maybe I'll do a Christmas theme on the inside.

They each have their own color on the magnets. See my previous blog for that info. I can't wait to get in the new house so I can put these on the wall!
